Thierry is the grandson of Pierre Cyprès, a precursor in the racing of non-thoroughbreds, and son of Bernard Cyprès, breeder of the famous Nupsala and Ucello II. He founded his own breeding operation 15 years ago on the family land at Montigny-sur-Canne, a few kilometers from Cercy la Tour in the Nevers regions. He began with three base mares, Queensland, Seville and Judy.
Although he concentrates mainly on AQPS breeding, he also follows thoroughbred breeding and recently acquired a daughter of Danehill from theclose family of Lawman and Latice.
Like many of his neighbours in this region, Thierry Cyprès combines breeding cattle with raising horses. In order to link the Nevers region with Paris and Western France, his wife has created the transport business Transequin.
Thierry Cyprès also takes in boarding mares.
