Formerly based in Grenoble, Janick and Bernard Debeauvais, respectively chemist and dentist by profession, used to express their common passion for horses by breeding Connemara ponies.
They started anew when the opportunity to purchase the Domaine du Beau Cérisier in the Allier region, and considering the lack of interest in ponies in this area, they reoriented their activity.
Today they breed racehorses with their own 3 broodmares and take in broodmares and their progeny for outside clients, for example a major eventing owner. They also provide foaling services.
They also break in and pre-train youngsters on site, with facilities including a breaking in ring, arena and sand track.
Their first broodmare was an AQPS named Eden King, from the same family as Useful and Rubi Ball descended from Topaze with Jean-Louis Berger. Eden King produced 2 winners, Kimbaa and Omega King. Co-bred with Jean-Pierre Bourdin, Obela is a young AQPS who is sister to 3 winners including Infrasonique, winner of a major steeplechase handicap in England. Finally, the couple bought Byzantion under the advice of Henri Roussignhol. This dual winning thoroughbred raised by Jean-Louis Maldant is a sister of the tough Tyrapple (11 wins). Janick Debeauvais prefers not to cover her mares with foals at foot, so they bear an average of one foal every two years.
