Services and fees
Formerly held by the Fournier family, the Haras du Grand Chesnaie has earned itself a reputation in West France thanks to the quality and success of its stallions, notably confirmed sires recruited from major Normandy studs.
The Grand Chesnaie has newly been taken over this season by two young but experienced associates, Christophe Berthelot and Franck Lamy. The former knows the stud as he used to be the stud groom, while the latter was responsible for a neighbouring breeding enterprise.
The services offered remain the same, ie a complete range.
The 50-hectare stud has 45 stables including 6 foaling boxes. Covering is accompanied by daily gynecological surveillance. 60 - 70 mares foal each spring. Outside the covering season, the stud offers weaning services and sales preparation. The Grand Chesnaie takes mares throughout the year or at livery in season. Transport can be arranged.
