Of a farming background, Alain Régnier has turned towards Thoroughbreds at the beginning of the 90's, pushed by the passion for racing. He primarily settled on a 75 acres farm over a clay soil at the frontier of Mayenne and Ille-et-Vilaine at the doors of Brittany in 1992.
The Haras de la Haie NEuve has first presented yearlings at Saint-Cloud in 1994 (Sete Nain, Segest, Isa Béré), then at Deauville in October 1995 (Tacticien) and August 1996 (Dionello).
The Haras de la Haie Neuve quickly specialised in speed and precocity. All products of the breeding farm bear the suffix Béré, contraction of both family names of Alain Régnier and his wif Anne-Marie Béguin
Today, his land spreads over 150 acres and includes 50 boxes plus a covered arena to walk the sales young stock. Further to ensuring numerous outdoors foalings, up to 100 per year, the Haie Neuve has targetted on his own foalings, breeding and sales prep only for foals born and raised on-site, for the stud farm or the permanent boarders.
The broodmare band numbers 37 mares, including 22 private mares.
To recruit his stallions, Alain Régnier has linked up with international bloodstock agent Emmanuel de Séroux (Narvick). The Haie Neuve had its best stallion in Verglas, to which High Yield succeeded too shortly as he died in 2007 after only 2 breeding seasons. In 2010, Alain Régnier offers the services of Della Francesca, who covered the biggest book in France in 2009 (142). He brought Hold That Tiger back, who had already done a season in 2008. Much attached to paternal bloodlines, Alain Régnier has another son of Storm Cat, Hurricane Cat, and has recruited a son of Sunday Silence named Peer Gynt from Japan in 2009.
