Based at Dyo in Saone-et-Loire, the two brothers Hubert et Gérard Delorme are well known specialists of "catlle fattening", a technic which consists of fattening the 6 months calves and keep them up to the age of 3 sometimes. They only buy around 15 calves every year and have reduced their activity (200 catttle) over the 250 acres farm, but favour the quality of the meat. Special prize of Charolles beef's fair, the Delorme brothers won top price with one of their beef which weighted 112 stones (meat only).
This is only possible thanks to a great land, limestone and clay, perfect soil for fattening beefs naturally without any food complement. The cattle is sold to a neighbour, specialist of the meat market : Didier Berland, who they gave horse passion to.
Hubert and Gérard Delorme, along with Léa et Valérie, daughters of Gérard, always lived with horses, as their father used to be President of the Percheron's Syndicate.
Their first good horse was Ourka Mans (Tourangeau), born in 1980, one of the good 3yo AQPS, winner at Argentan but who unfortunately killed himself on his next run at Lion d'Angers. In 1985, the two brothers bought from M. Morel Journel, during a show at La Clayette, an anglo-arabian mare called Mutica, winner of 4 races, and sister to Mulian (600,000 francs prize money). She produced Irving Mans (Vidéo Rock) a 3 times winner in 5 runs for François Nicolle.
Then, they made a decisive purchase from Simon Philibert in Ain : Friska du Moulin (Royal Charter), dual winner and a sister to the very good Espilon du Moulin II (13 wins). She already gave birth to Nidéa du Moulin (6 wins, € 94,000). Friska du Moulin produced two other good fillies : Quissisia Mans (Vidéo Rock), winner of 3 races on the flat and over hurdles, and Saphira Mans (Fragrant Mix), triple winner over jumps at Pau and Enghien, both trained by Jean-Luc Pelletan.
In addition to this family, the Delorme brothers recruited a new broodmare from Haras de Saint-Voir: Keep Well (Agent Bleu), winner of 4 races including the Prix Chloris in Saint-Cloud.
