Based in the heart of the Allier next to the farm of Bruno vagne, Patrick Joubert is not far from Nicolas de Lageneste, André Quesny and Emmanuel Clayeux, with whom he owns several horses in partnership, as well as with Cantal-based Paul Couderc.
Patrick Joubert used to ride in his youth and took on his first mare in 1975. This was Cylblonde, a thoroughbred which he crosses with a sports thoroughbred named Nadir. Her firstborn filly, Quemoy, won 7 races for permit holder Emile Niess.
After ten years away from racing, Patrick Joubert bought a mare from Gérard Ferté, Néocène, from a family of Roger Chaignon's in the Manche region which is currently represented by the mare Incess. Néocène produced the useful Enzo Conti, winner of the Prix Rivoli on his first outing at Auteuil.
Acquaintance with Nicolas de Lageneste (Haras de Saint Voir) and Paul Couderc encouraged Joubert to invest further and today he breeds from 16 jumping mares, as well as buying youngstock, for example from Michèle Juhen-Cyprès. His horses are trained by Emmanuel Clayeux and Guillaume Macaire, and sold through Pierre Boulard.
Patrick Joubert's land is very varied, with sand, limestone and clay areas whose use he rotates. He also rents neighbouring land which has never been used by horses.
