At the edge of the snow, 1600 feet high, Thierry Lemoine is based in the natural park of Morvan in Nièvre (6 miles from the cross-country skiing slopes). His 230 acres farm is spread over natural peat fields protected by Natura 2000 and crossed by a small river, la Dragne. At Villapourçon, 400 inhabitants but 2nd largest village in France with no crops, he took over the family farm with 170 cattle, including 70 suckling cows. Registered in the Herd Book, he focuses on top quality reproductive cattle and breeds to aim national shows.

The tough winter enriches the granitic land during the summer. This is why Thierry Lemoine, who has lots of space, offers to take horses on livery during the spring, summer and autumn. He is based not far from Haras de Cercy la Tour (15 miles).

Horses are his passion since his youngest age. He took the big plunge in 2007 thanks to his friend Thierry Cyprès who gave him an opportunity with Newhaven (AQPS), a sister to Mendiant (Prix Rigoletto, Listed), just out of training after 6 places. Covered by Voix du Nord in 2008, Newhaven won the In Foal section at Cercy's Show in 2008. It was Thierry Lemoine's first comittment to such an event for which he bought a brand new trailer ! The foal born in 2009, a colt named Virtuose du Gouet, took part of the show at Decize 2011. The Lavirco colt born in 2010 was sold to Patrick Joubert.

Still on Thierry Cyprès advices, Thierry Lemoine bought a second mare in 2010, Querida de Ferbet, 3 times placed, by Ragmar out of Intrigue Deferbet (4 wins), a sister to Royal'Ela (4 wins). She finished 2nd in the In Foal mares contest at Cercy 2010.

In 2011, he gets a 3rd broodmare after being weaned : My Asadore, from Thierry Cyprès, a winner at Auteuil on her debuts and in foal to Saint des Saints. Lucky man, Thierry Lemoine won a free nomination to Anzillero for his 1st involvement in the AQPS meeting in 2010 at Auteuil, and choose a foal sharing in 2011 with Jervita (owned by Michel Thomas), an unraced sister to Kyowa (4 wins).

Thierry Lemoine is helped by his wife, a painter, and his daughter, passionated with horses, 5th in the french championship at Lamotte Beuvron, who just made her debuts in the prestigious equestrian school of Saint-Flour, and for whom he decided to breed horses.
