Born in the Vendée region but a Breton by adoption, Michel de Gigou was a public trainer for 3 decades. A jumping enthusiast, he always trained a large number of AQPS.
In 1987, he began breeding with his good race-mare Overdose.
Overdose became an excellent broodmare and her daughters have now taken over her role, producing notably Lys d'OUdairies and Net d'OUdairies.
Since 2002 Michel de Gigou has devoted all his time to breeding and has 15 AQPS broodmares from various sources including leading families from Central France.
His produce carry the "d'OUdairies" suffix in memory of the former family home in Roche sur Yon. He has been based for 32 years on the rich land of Brittany.
In addition to his activity as a breeder, Michel de Gigou races some of his produce under his own colours. He presides over the National AQPS Association, is a member of France Galop's committee, of the strategic committee of the National Studs, and president of the equine council of Brittany.
