From the third generation of the "de Lageneste" horse breeding dynasty, Nicolas has made his own name by developping the potential which he inherited. The 185-hectare HAras de Saint-Voir is secure in its position among leading French National Hunt breeders both at home and across the Channel. The Saint Voir places great importance upon its stallion selection and the recruitment of young sires and the stud hit the headlines thanks to the success of Robin des Champs who was exported to Ireland in 2008.
Nicolas de Lageneste is a pillar of the breeding community in the Central region of France and he works in partnership with Pierre Julienne of the Haras de la Monnerie in Normandy. This enables a rotation of stallions between the two regions, as was the case with Sleeping Car and currently with Epalo and Alberto Giacometti.
