The Haras de la Vastine has now been created 80 years ago near Bernay, in the Eure county. Nowadays, Emmanuel Dibatista, great-great-grandson of the stud's creator, is leading the place that spreads over 200 acres of almost one piece, and holds 50 boxes. His great-grandfather Louis Goubert had been an important owner-breeder of national hunt horses in training with André Adele in the 60s, with notably the future great National stallion Le Pontet. HE had purchased the influent Nosca to Marcel Boussac, although this latter usually never sold any stallion, sire of the famous Solitude. LA Vastine has had well-known stallions such as Jefferson.
Emmanuel Dibatista has taken over the stud farm's reins on his own in 2004. With 14 broodmares, he looks after a private breeding operation turned towards jumps. Recently, he has thrown Barents Bea, twice a gr.3 winner at Auteuil at 4, but also Smabelle, victrix of the Prix Montgomery Gr.3 in 2009. He exploits the products he breeds, esecially with Bertrand Lefevre, a young breeder settled at Senonnes.
With 45 horses that are permanent boarders on the farm, he still has room and wishes to increase the number of permanent boarders. In 2010, he has welcomed a stallion, something that had not happened in a long time at La Vastine, with the proven Baroud d'Honneur. The Haras de la Vastine offers all services related to breeding.
