Kotky Bleu back to Normandy for 2011

He is a nephew to the champions Katko and Kotkijet, brother to the Gr.1 winner Kakira, related to many black types including the english Katarino. Himself 2nd in the Prix Finot, but only winner after this at Jallais, Kotky Bleu was aimed to become a stallion at the beginning of his racing career. So he did not get gelded, which was a disavantage for him as a racehorse. He retired to stud in 2006 at the Haras de la Monnerie, a thoroughbred stud created by Pierre Julienne just few yards away from his big trotting stud farm, the Haras des Cruchettes in Orne.

While waiting for his first runners, in 2009 and 2010, Kotky Bleu was standing in Anjou, at the Ecuries de la Daudaie, near Segre with Mathieu Coutin (Video). In October 2010, everything triggered within a few days thanks to Tango Rochelais 's win trained by Patrice Quinton over jumps in Nancy, and then Merci Pierji 's victory, bred by Celine Gualde (editor of the equestrian sports section at Equidia) in Enghien. Especially since her other success in Auteuil on 21st November beating the good AQPS Theleze (Lavirco).To get a winner in Auteuil with his first crop, is the cherry on the cake for a NH sire. Therefore, Kotky Bleu comes back to his normandy, at the Haras des Cruchettes for the 2011 breeding season .

Merci Pierji, with Celine Gualde's colours, made Kotky Bleu's name in Paris last autumn 2010.

During the winter, he can count on Brody Bleu (2nd on his 1st start in April at Nantes), who made a nice come back by finishing 3rd in Pau trained by Etienne Leenders. He should win his race very soon. Lets note also that, beside his production, Kotky Bleu enjoyed a spectacular update in his family with the Auteuil success at top level of his sister Katkonova and his nephews Kotkidy and Katenko.
